Calgary's live-event calendar is one of the most varied in Western Canada - the Calgary Stampede, Calgary Folk Music Festival, Sled Island, GlobalFest, Chasing Summer, Calgary Flames and Wranglers home games, every Scotiabank Saddledome concert, every BMO Centre trade show, every corporate gala at the Hyatt or the Westin, every West Hillhurst Hall and private venue wedding. Each event format produces its own security exposure, its own crowd-flow pattern, and its own escalation profile. Concerts and festivals are the highest-intensity format in our portfolio. A single festival gate can push several thousand attendees through access control inside the first 30 minutes; a mainstage headliner draws elevated-alcohol crowd density into a confined bowl; after-show dispersal pushes a drunk, hyped crowd back out through the parkade and transit exits inside a 20-minute window. Every one of those windows produces a specific exposure pattern. Our concert and festival teams are briefed on gate-rush protocols, mainstage barrier handling, backstage access verification, and the specific CPS liaison format for the venue.

Corporate events, galas, and conferences are a very different format with a very different exposure profile. Guest-side aggression is low. Access-badge integrity, VIP arrival discretion, bar-service pacing, and after-event lobby overflow are the real exposures. Officers in this format are presented as a soft, calm, hospitality-tone presence - uniformed but deliberately not police-presence. Every corporate client we serve runs a documented pre-event briefing covering the specific VIPs, the specific access-badge tiers, and the specific escalation protocol for any guest incident.

Weddings and private parties occupy a specialty niche. Low overall security volume per event, but very high per-incident sensitivity because a single loud incident wrecks the host's investment in the day. Our wedding officers are presented in a non-uniformed or lightly-uniformed configuration where the client requests it, with the officer stationed near the gift-table and the main entry — visible only to defuse any gate-crash or guest-side aggression situation.

Trade shows and conferences produce a 3-5 day coverage model unique to the format - overnight exhibition-floor coverage during the dark hours, access-badge admin during open hours, and a documented contractor-move-in / move-out window on each end of the show. Trade-show officers are briefed on exhibitor-booth integrity, product-theft deterrence, and the specific badge-verification protocol the show-management company runs for each tier of attendee access.

Sporting events scale from amateur youth-tournament coverage (one or two officers managing parent sideline conduct and parking lot flow) through amateur-adult league play (crowd control at larger provincial championship events) to the professional format at the Scotiabank Saddledome, McMahon Stadium, or the WinSport corridor. Each tier produces its own crowd-flow pattern. The amateur youth model is almost entirely about conduct de-escalation; the pro format is about coordinated crowd ingress, VIP handoff, and post-game dispersal into Red Mile and the parkade.

Across every event format, our standard offer includes a free pre-event site walk (in-person or virtual), a written security plan calibrated to the specific venue and crowd model, a scaled uniformed team including a dedicated supervisor for events over six officers, documented access-badge administration, medical and first-aid liaison with the event medic or EMS unit on-scene, and a post-event incident summary report delivered to the client within 24 hours of event close. Every officer holds an Alberta SSIA security worker licence. MVP Security Inc. holds the corporate SSIA business licence.

Pricing for Calgary event security runs at $32-$45 per guard-hour with a 4-hour minimum per officer. VIP close-protection handoffs for celebrity and dignitary arrivals are quoted separately at $80-$150 per hour. Every event quote is written, event-specific, and free after a 10-minute intake call. For high-profile events — major festival headliners, playoff hockey, dignitary conferences — standing retainer options are available with pre-approved deployment protocols so the team activates on 48 hours notice without re-contracting.
